sweet toothQ.        I have a terrible sweet tooth, like the size of King Kong. How can I correct it?

A.        Sugar craving is one of the symptoms of yeast and parasitic infections.  When yeasts and parasites hook onto your mucous membranes and suck your nutrients, they scream, “Feed me more!  Feed Me more!” If you don’t know what’s going on, you just feed them with sugary food every time they scream for it.  If not treated properly, over eating sugar can evolve into diabetes or uncontrollable weight gain.

Follow these steps:

1)    Change your dietary habits

Learn what to eat and what to avoid so that you can starve your little enemies, yeasts and parasites, and feed your body.  My yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking gives you recipes following my anti-yeast cooking principles: no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, nor chemicals.  You’ll receive as much benefit as the effort you put in.  Don’t wait for the perfect time.  Perfect time never comes!  Once you learn to feed your body with nourishing food and starve the yeasts and parasites, sugar-craving symptoms will be greatly reduced.

2)    Herbal Therapy

If you have severe symptoms of sugar craving, I would recommend taking our Herbal Detox Program and Herbal Cocktail to speed up the process. Yeast-Para Control removes excess yeasts and parasites quickly, and Cleansing-Balance Tea flushes the debris that Yeast-Para Control creates.  Herbal Cocktail nourishes your body and starves yeasts and parasites.

3)    Stress Management

Stress is part of life.  When you manage your stress effectively, stress    can propel you towards higher levels of success.  On the other hand, you might use stress as an excuse to indulge yourself in emotional eating, including eating sugary food.  In my book: Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, there are details regarding tools you can use to manage your stress.  They include meditation, prayers, affirmation, etc.  I would encourage you to go to my website: www.drjsbest.com to download the Ten-minute Meditation Guide for free and meditate every day to reduce your day-to-day stress.

The real problem Americans face is consuming too many simple carbohydrates.  An average American eats 120 pounds of refined sugar per year.   Sugar is everywhere – in bread, pies, cookies, candies, salad dressings, ketchup, etc.  As I’ve indicated repeatedly in previous articles, sugar feeds the yeasts and parasites in your body and facilitates fermentation.  That’s why your stomach feels bloated, your sinuses are congested, and your mind is foggy after consuming refined sugar.

What is the difference between simple and complex carbohydrates?   Simple carbohydrates such as refined sugar in cookies, candies, ice cream, etc. contain “empty calories.”  Empty calories burn and dissipate quickly.  That’s why you get hungry easily even after you’ve had a meal high in empty calories.   Foods that contain complex carbohydrates include whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.  In order for your body to utilize calories generated by complex carbohydrates, foods have to be properly digested.  The digestion and absorption process of complex carbohydrates is slower than that for simple carbohydrates.  That’s why you don’t get hungry easily or crave more foods when you ingest foods containing complex carbohydrates.

What should you do then to maintain a well-balanced diet and not get lost in the diet jungle?  Follow Dr. J’s yeast-free nutritional program!  My clients call the program “Dr. J’s Eight Commandments.”  These Eight Commandments include no refined sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, and no chemicals.  All of the above are favorite foods for yeasts and parasites in your body.  When you indulge in the above items, your enemies — yeasts and parasites — will have a rock ‘n roll party in your body!

Some people may not be able to fully commit to Dr. J’s Eight Commandments 100%.  However, if you follow them 50%, you will get 50% of the benefits; if you follow them 75%, you will get 75% of the benefits; and this is better than 0%.  Don’t let the excuse of “either-or” stop you from making an effort.  I have seen people waiting for the “perfect time” such as after the holidays or special occasions.  However, the perfect time would never come and they are still suffering from yeast disorder symptoms (including weight problems) year in and year out.

Once you follow my yeast-free nutritional program, you will enjoy physical and mental fitness on a consistent basis.  This yeast-free nutritional program has stood the test of many decades for thousands of my clients, including myself.  Personally I have lost 50 pounds and kept it off by practicing what I preach.  This life-long dietary habit will also save you 30 to 50% on grocery bills as reported by my clients!

If you wish to learn what you should eat and what you should avoid, go to your local public library to read my books, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, and Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.  You may also call our office at 1-800-715-3053 or 818-472-2213 to order hard copies or order e-books online: www.drjsbest.com.  The guidelines provided in these two books are life long guidelines, not just when you want to lose weight or get rid of yeast and parasitic infections.  Once you make a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, you won’t need any fad diets to boost the result!

After working with children and adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) for the past three decades, I have found the most common physical factor, which may be shocking to many, is yeast infection involving the inner or middle ears.

Dr. Harold Levinson in his book, Total Concentration (1990) states that more than 80% of patients with ADD he has seen suffered from inner-ear infections.  He explains in great detail how the inner-ear system or the cerebellar-vestibular system (CVS) controls the flow of sensory information entering the brain.  When this system is impaired by infections of the inner ear, your vision, hearing, balance, sense of direction, motion, altitude, depth, and smell, and all motor information leaving the brain can be scrambled.  Consequently, this auditory drift results in problems in balance and coordination, concentration, memory, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.  In some cases, speech timing is off, which can result in rapid speech, or slow, slurred speech.  A malfunctioning inner ear has difficulty processing motor input; this in turn makes the affected individual prone to motion-related phobias such as fear of moving elevators, escalators, cars, planes, trains, buses and crowds.

What Dr. Levinson failed to address was what this inner-ear infection is about and what causes it.  In my experience, this inner-ear infection is a yeast infection that can be contracted before or after birth.  If a pregnant woman has yeast infections, she can give the infections to her baby through the blood stream and/or birth canal.  The baby can be born with yeast infections manifesting symptoms such as eye or ear infections, respiratory tract congestion and colic.

The goal of successful treatment should be to clear yeast infections from the inner-ear.  Our Herbal Detox (Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea) works wonders to control the yeast overgrowth in the inner-ear.  Meanwhile, Male Vitality or Female Vitality improves mental concentration, uplifts the mood, and increases calm energy.

In addition to herbal therapy to eradicate the physical causes, it’s also important to adhere to a yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no caffeine, no nicotine, nor chemicals.  It may be difficult to stay off the Standard American Diet which is loaded with yeast-favorite food.  So, the first item I place heavy emphasis on is NO SUGAR!  Sugar feeds the yeasts instantly, and the overgrowth of yeasts in the inner-ear causes children (or adults) to lose control physically and mentally.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Are you suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)?  Review the following checklist to find out:

  • Are you having trouble concentrating?
  • Are you forgetful?
  • Are you impulsive?
  • Are you hyperactive?
  • Do you talk very fast?
  • Is your speech slow or slurred?
  • Are you a smart thinker and yet a slow learner?
  • Are you prone to motion-related phobias (such as fears of moving elevators, escalators, cars, planes, trains, or crowds)?
  • Are you often depressed, anxious and irritable?

If you’ve checked off more than three items, then chances are you are among the five million Americans who suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or ADHD!  Despite the growing attention this disorder has received in the past few decades, the diagnostic and treatment process remains elusive, complex, and inclusive!

Possible Causes of ADD or ADHD:

ADD or ADHD can affect children, adolescents, and adults.  Each case can differ widely in terms of symptoms, causes, therapeutic process and prognosis.  After dealing with numerous children and adults with ADD or ADHD, I have found the following common factors:

Physical Factors:

The most common physical factor I have found, which may be shocking to many, is yeast infection involving the inner or middle ears. When this system is impaired by infections of the inner ear, your vision, hearing, balance, senses of direction, motion, altitude, depth, and smell, and all motor information leaving the brain can be scrambled.  Consequently, this auditory drift results in problems in balance and coordination, concentration, memory, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.  In some cases, speech timing is off, which can result in rapid speech or slow, slurred speech.  A malfunctioning inner ear has difficulty processing motor input; this in turn makes the affected individual prone to motion-related phobias such as fear of moving elevators, escalators, cars, planes, trains, buses and crowds.

What Dr. Levinson failed to address was what this inner-ear infection is all about and what causes it.  In my experience, this inner-ear infection is yeast infection that can be contracted before or after birth.  If a pregnant woman has yeast infections, she can give the infections to her baby through the blood stream and/or birth canal.  The baby can be born with yeast infections manifesting symptoms such as eye or ear infections, respiratory tract congestion and colic.

Psychological Factors:

Most children and adults with ADD or ADHD suffer from psychological distress.  The following is a good example:

Mary, a 19-year-old Caucasian college student was brought to my office because of her impulsive eating, which resulted in overweight problems, poor mental concentration, resistant behavior, constant chattering, rapid speech, poor academic performance and low self-esteem.  Mary exhibited the above behavior while she was in the elementary school.  She was doing fairly well while she was placed in a private high school with a structured routine.  After entering college, she was overwhelmed by the “complicated life of a sophomore” and her previous pattern of ADD behavior began to worsen.

Dietary Factors:

The Standard American Diet (SAD) has created many SAD stories.  Over-consumption of food containing sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals (including food preservatives and coloring, and heavy metals) has caused every American yeast overgrowth at one time or the other, to a greater or lesser degree.  Symptoms of yeast disorder that contribute to ADD include headaches, poor mental concentration (foggy mind), middle or inner ear infections, strep throat, nasal congestion, mood swings, depression and phobias.

Environmental Factors:

Many people with ADD live in an environment that contributes to or worsens their disorders.  Children with ADD or ADHD often have parents who also suffer from ADD.  Some parents recognize their disorders; however, most don’t.  Many schoolteachers also have ADD, but most don’t recognize or don’t want to admit to the affliction.  Stress due to parents’ divorce, illness, financial hardship, etc., also can complicate a child’s ADD or ADHD.

If ADD or ADHD is untreated during childhood, the symptoms will continue into adolescence and adulthood.  If the environment is non-understanding and non-supportive, the difficulty in dealing with everyday demands will be exacerbated.

In the next article, I will discuss the treatment of ADD or ADHD.  Stay tuned!

According to the Mayo Clinic staff, chronic prostatitis is a recurrent prostate infection, difficult to treat, and its cause is unknown.  Based on my more than 30 years of clinical experience, my observation is that prostatitis is caused by yeast and parasitic infections.  What causes yeast and parasitic infections then?

There are various causes of prostatitis.  The following are common causes:

1)    Poor Dietary Habit:  The Standard American Diet (SAD), which is loaded with sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, and chemicals, feeds the yeasts and parasites in your body and gives the little enemies a chance to have an rock ‘n roll party.   After their feast, they deposit toxins in the body and cause a multitude of infections.  Depending on which part of the body is weak and has little defense, yeasts and parasites will occupy that spot and build their colonies.  If the prostate gland is weak, then prostatitis would be the end result.

2)    Low Immunity: Pre-existing health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, paralysis, etc. weaken the immunity, so the body has a weaker defense when bacteria, viruses, yeasts and parasites invade.

3)    Male Identity Issues: As I have previously indicated, physical symptoms are reflections of psychological and spiritual states.  Struggles with male identity issues can make the prostate prone to infections.

4)    Psychological Stress: Stress, if not managed properly, can cause a multitude of diseases.  If the prostate is a weak area, then infections can show up in that area with stress.

5)    Physical Injury:  This is a relatively rare cause.  If an injury of the prostate or the surrounding area is not healed properly, recurrent yeast and bacterial infections can occur.

Even though physicians are usually unsure about the causes of chronic prostatitis, they tend to use a liberal dose of antibiotics orally or intravenously.  Antibiotics, designed to control infections and inflammations, kill off both bad guys (e.g., bacteria, yeasts, viruses and parasites) and good guys (e.g., friendly bacteria floras).  Hence, they create a vacuum upon the initial use.  At this time the body may experience temporary relief, because there’s nobody home; it’s nice and quiet.  However, this honeymoon does not usually last long.  The good guys take a long time to recover.  However, the bad guys thrive like weeds after a summer rainfall.  A great imbalance is thus created.  Consequently, symptoms of yeast disorder worsen each time after treatment with these potent drugs.

In the next article I will address natural remedies for prostatitis.  Stay tuned.

Yeast Colony

Yeasts.  Candida.  Candidiasis.  What is the significance of these terms?

Let’s start with the basics.

Fungi have an extended family.  Yeasts belong to the fungus family which consists of at least 100,000 to 250,000 species.  They include yeasts, mold, mildew, rots, smuts and mushrooms.  The characteristics of fungi is the lack of chlorophyl.  Consequently, they cannot perform photosynthesis and are parasitic and saprophytic (feeding off dead organisms).

The function of yeasts is to break down dead bodies so that organic matter can be turned into its basic elements of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and phosphorus.  Without yeasts, we could be in serious trouble because dead bodies of animals and plants would simply pile up.  We need yeasts to assist in the recycling of ecology.

However, overgrowth of yeasts can also break down living organisms.  There are at least 20 to 30 different types of pathogenic yeasts which cause illnesses.  Candida is one member of the yeast family.  Candida albicans alone has 50 to 60 different strains which cause infections.  Consequently, it is no surprise that almost every individual in contemporary society suffers from yeast infections at one time or another, to a greater or lesser degree.

Because yeasts normally live on mucous membranes, contemporary laboratory tests such as blood tests, x-rays or stool cultures usually cannot detect their presence.

Many of Dr. J’s past clients reported that all the tests performed by their physicians were negative; however, they still felt miserable.  Observation of the eyes, skin and tongue and knowledge of a detailed health history are the best ways to determine whether an individual is infected with yeasts and suffers from yeast disorder.
