Wheat gluten is a favorite food for yeasts and parasites and is mucous-producing.  Most people believe that wheat is a nutritious grain and they therefore consume a large amount of wheat products on a daily basis.  When you go to a restaurant, the first food item presented to you is usually wheat rolls or crackers.  When you go to work or school, you eat wheat bread sandwiches.  When you feel like having some carbohydrates, you eat pasta, spaghetti or macaroni.  Many of your breakfast cereals also contain wheat.  Your favorite pancakes are most likely made of wheat.  Wheat is everywhere and it seems to be difficult to avoid.

As a result of consuming a large quantity of wheat, many people suffer from sinus congestion, headaches, asthma, and mucus in the respiratory tract.  As explained previously, when yeasts and parasites are well-fed with their favorite foods such as wheat, they multiply quickly.  In addition to sucking your nutrition through their strong, vampire-like hooks, they also deposit toxins after a hearty feast.  The toxins they release can cause all kinds of allergy symptoms.

There are no uniform symptoms, causes and treatment modalities for ADD or ADHD.  Every case should be given individualized attention and treatment plans.  Basically, there is no cure for ADD or ADHD.  However, the symptoms can be controlled with proper intervention.  After dealing with clients with ADD or ADHD for three decades, I have found the following treatment methods to be most effective:

Yeast-Free Nutritional Therapy:

A yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine nor chemicals works wonders to reduce hyperactivity, poor mental concentration, irritability, moodiness and the other symptoms mentioned above.  The logic is very simple: a yeast-free nutritional program reduces the infection in your middle or inner ear.  When the yeast infection is under control, the swelling of tissue goes down.  This, in turn, allows sensory input to be transmitted from the external environment to your brain without obstacles or blockage.  Consequently you can be more receptive and responsive. To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow the recipes in my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Herbal Therapy:

Chinese herbal formulas are also found to be effective in the detoxifying and healing process.  The most important formulas to use are the ones that clean up infections in the middle ear and the sinus.  When the yeast infection in the middle ear is under control, you will be able to hear better, respond more appropriately, and in most cases, your ear ringing will also go away.

Sinus congestion not only blocks sensory input, but also prevents the brain from getting a sufficient supply of oxygen.  This, of course, is a double whammy!  When the sinus infections are cleared, your mental clarity will also be restored.  Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea are excellent combination in clearing the yeast infections in the mid or inner ear or sinuses.

Not every individual with ADD experiences hyperactivity.  You might experience low energy and depression.  Therefore, additional herbal formulas for uplifting energy and mood are recommended.  Male Vitality or Female Vitality is designed to uplift your mood, increase energy, and improve mental concentration.

Psychological Counseling:

As mentioned earlier, all individuals with Attention Deficit Disorder tend to experience emotional issues that have not been worked through.  Either children or adults, it is important for them to identify the core problems contributing to the disorder.  Seeking help from experienced therapists dealing with ADD or ADHD is an essential step.

If impulsiveness is present, you will need to be in a behavior modification program either on an individual basis or in a group situation.  The purpose of these programs is to help you learn to set limits on your behavior and learn a new way to gratify your needs or delay your gratification.  You also need to learn how to organize a structured routine that is easy to follow so that your frustration will be reduced to a minimum.

People with ADD are often highly intelligent.  If you are one of them, don’t give up!  You can make a great contribution to society if you learn how to control ADD or ADHD and make the best use of your intelligence!

Are you suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD)?  Review the following checklist to find out:

  • Are you having trouble concentrating?
  • Are you forgetful?
  • Are you impulsive?
  • Are you hyperactive?
  • Do you talk very fast?
  • Is your speech slow or slurred?
  • Are you a smart thinker and yet a slow learner?
  • Are you prone to motion-related phobias (such as fears of moving elevators, escalators, cars, planes, trains, or crowds)?
  • Are you often depressed, anxious and irritable?

If you’ve checked off more than three items, then chances are you are among the five million Americans who suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or ADHD!  Despite the growing attention this disorder has received in the past few decades, the diagnostic and treatment process remains elusive, complex, and inclusive!

Possible Causes of ADD or ADHD:

ADD or ADHD can affect children, adolescents, and adults.  Each case can differ widely in terms of symptoms, causes, therapeutic process and prognosis.  After dealing with numerous children and adults with ADD or ADHD, I have found the following common factors:

Physical Factors:

The most common physical factor I have found, which may be shocking to many, is yeast infection involving the inner or middle ears.  Dr. Harold Levinson in his book, Total Concentration (1990) states that more than 80% of patients with ADD he has seen suffered from inner-ear infections.  He explains in great detail how the inner-ear system or the cerebellar-vestibular system (CVS) controls the flow of sensory information entering the brain.  When this system is impaired by infections of the inner ear, your vision, hearing, balance, senses of direction, motion, altitude, depth, and smell, and all motor information leaving the brain can be scrambled.  Consequently, this auditory drift results in problems in balance and coordination, concentration, memory, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.  In some cases, speech timing is off, which can result in rapid speech or slow, slurred speech.  A malfunctioning inner ear has difficulty processing motor input; this in turn makes the affected individual prone to motion-related phobias such as fear of moving elevators, escalators, cars, planes, trains, buses and crowds.

What Dr. Levinson failed to address was what this inner-ear infection is all about and what causes it.  In my experience, this inner-ear infection is yeast infection that can be contracted before or after birth.  If a pregnant woman has yeast infections, she can give the infections to her baby through the blood stream and/or birth canal.  The baby can be born with yeast infections manifesting symptoms such as eye or ear infections, respiratory tract congestion and colic.

Psychological Factors:

Most children and adults with ADD or ADHD suffer from psychological distress.  The following is a good example:

Mary, a 19-year-old Caucasian college student was brought to my office because of her impulsive eating, which resulted in overweight problems, poor mental concentration, resistant behavior, constant chattering, rapid speech, poor academic performance and low self-esteem.  Mary exhibited the above behavior while she was in the elementary school.  She was doing fairly well while she was placed in a private high school with a structured routine.  After entering college, she was overwhelmed by the “complicated life of a sophomore” and her previous pattern of ADD behavior began to worsen.

Dietary Factors:

The Standard American Diet (SAD) has created many SAD stories.  Over-consumption of food containing sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals (including food preservatives and coloring, and heavy metals) has caused every American yeast overgrowth at one time or the other, to a greater or lesser degree.  Symptoms of yeast disorder that contribute to ADD include headaches, poor mental concentration (foggy mind), middle or inner ear infections, strep throat, nasal congestion, mood swings, depression and phobias.

Environmental Factors:

Many people with ADD live in an environment that contributes to or worsens their disorders.  Children with ADD or ADHD often have parents who also suffer from ADD.  Some parents recognize their disorders; however, most don’t.  Many schoolteachers also have ADD, but most don’t recognize or don’t want to admit to the affliction.  Stress due to parents’ divorce, illness, financial hardship, etc., also can complicate a child’s ADD or ADHD.

If ADD or ADHD is untreated during childhood, the symptoms will continue into adolescence and adulthood.  If the environment is non-understanding and non-supportive, the difficulty in dealing with everyday demands will be exacerbated.

In the next article, I will discuss the treatment of ADD or ADHD.  Stay tuned!

Dr. J’s Detox consists of a yeast-free nutritional regimen and an Herbal Detox program.  A yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, nor chemicals helps prevent your body from generating new toxins.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, feel free to follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Chinese herbal therapy cleanses the existing toxins that you have accumulated over the years.  Since yeasts and parasites are like Siamese Twins, you need a well-put-together Chinese herbal formula that can control the overgrowth of yeasts and parasites simultaneously.  Our Yeast-Para Control formula is specifically designed for this purpose.  To maximize the cleansing effect, Cleansing-Balance Tea is can be drunk to flush the debris.

When you are on Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea, you will see the evidence in the toilet almost immediately.  I usually instruct my clients to do “toilet watching” with a flashlight or magnifying glasses to look for the following:

Debris of Yeasts

Cloudy or mucousy materials in the urine or stool.  Some of my clients described them as “the Milky Way” or “clouds under the water.”

Eggs of Parasites:

They look like sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, undigested brown rice, or broken corn.  You can see them in your stool or menstrual blood clots.

Mature Worms:

They come in various sizes, shapes and colors.  Pinworms appear to be fibers sticking out of your stool.  Hook worms look like spaghetti or string cheese.  Flat worms look like broken tree leaves dancing in the toilet when you flush it.  There are more than 250,000 species of yeast and parasites, so pay attention!

All of these may sound unpleasant.  However, you should be very happy to see these creatures come out of, instead of stay in, your body!  As a result of this vigorous cleansing process, sooner or later, you will experience an overall improvement in your physical and mental functioning.  The most frequently reported effects by my clients are:

  • Smooth and Effortless Elimination
  • Disappearance of Bad Breath and/or Flattened Tummy
  • Reduction of Water Weight
  • Improved Mental Clarity
  • Heightened Energy
  • Strengthened Immunity
  • Increased Productivity

How long would it take to achieve the above results?  It depends on how toxic your body is.  A general guideline is to detox at least three months in a row every year.  If you experience a chronic toxic condition, then generally one month treatment for one year of illness is necessary.

The most effective way for detoxification is using a holistic approach including yeast-free nutrition, herbal therapy, stress management, and spiritual counseling.   For more information, visit www.drjsbest.com.  I also provide consultation via telephone or Skype.  For an appointment, please call (800) 715-3053 or e-mail: drj@drjsbest.com.

Q.        I have been a vegan for years.  How come I cannot lose weight?

A.         A Vegan diet basically contains no animal products including cow milk, goat milk or milk products such as ice cream, butter, cheese, yogurt, etc.  However, I have observed that most vegans consume a liberal amount of sugar, wheat, yeasts, caffeine and chemicals.  Remember “Dr. J’s Eight Commandments” in my yeast-free nutritional program?  To avoid feeding yeasts and parasites in your body, it’s best to avoid sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, and chemicals.  It’s good that vegans do not consume dairy, but they do consume other yeast-favorite food.  The end result could be bloating, a weak thyroid, and sluggish metabolism which are not conducive to weight loss.

The same phenomenon happens to vegetarians whether or not they have cow milk or milk products in their diet.  The best nutritional program for weight loss is a yeast-free diet, not vegan or vegetarian diet.

To learn about what to eat and what to avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.  Once you are familiar with the yeast-free cooking principles, you can create your own recipes.

In order to correct weight problems, you should learn to nourish your body and mind on a regular basis.  Getting and staying trim is a lifelong project.  No crash diets, injections, medications, or surgeries can achieve this purpose.  The following natural remedies have been confirmed by many of my clients as most cost-effective for weight control:

Yeast-Free Nutritional Program:

The first step towards the right direction is to wean yourself from foods containing sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals.  Stop putting poisonous or highly allergic foods into your body.  Give your thyroid a chance to rest and regenerate.  Allow your body to avoid the assault of wrong foods, and instead be nourished by nutrients from the right kind of foods.  If you would like to learn more about what to eat and what to avoid, follow the recipes in my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Herbal Therapy:

For those of you who have a long history of being overweight, you should consider herbal formulas specifically designed for weight control as an additional measure.  A yeast-free nutritional program is meant to give your body a new start, while an herbal therapy program is meant to remove the existing toxins from your body and revitalize your sluggish metabolism.  A well-formulated herbal program for weight control should have the following three functions:

 1.  Control Your Appetite:

Most Americans overeat.  When I traveled in Europe, I noticed that my American friends were often surprised by the relatively smaller portions of food they received in European restaurants.  A traditional Chinese belief is that you should not eat more than a handful of food for each meal.  For those of you who love to eat, you probably wished you now had a larger hand (smile)!  Even though some of you are well aware of what you should eat and what you shouldn’t eat, when an abundance of food is available, will power may often give in.  Luckily, a well put-together herbal formula can curb your appetite naturally without extra effort on your part.

Our Herbal Cocktail was specifically designed for this purpose.  The high protein herbal drink contains multigrains and powerful digestive enzymes.  This product curbs your appetite, stops sugar craving, and nourishes your body.  A scoup of this powder in a cup of Cleansing-Balance Tea can usually carry you over for about two hours if you are too busy to have a regular meal.  It has been considered a life-saver by my busy clients.

For those people who fast periodically, the combination of our Cleansing-Balance Tea and Herbal Cocktail is extremely nourishing during the fast.

 2.  Block Fat from Forming Fatty Tissues.

As mentioned previously, the Standard American Diet (SAD) usually contains 40% to 60% fat in a given meal (A cheesburger is a good example.)  If you wish to reduce weight, you need to learn to eat sensibly and avoid foods containing a high amount of fat.  However, many people may deviate knowingly or unknowingly.  As a natural facilitator, a good herbal formula for weight control will also eliminate a signficant portion of the fat you put in your body.  Before the newly ingested fats have a chance to be stored in your body, the herbal formula should be able to expel them provided that you are not consistently overloading your body with fatty foods.

Our Fitness Regular is designed as a fat blocker.  Over the past 15 years, our clients also reported side benefits such as balancing of their blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.

3.  Burn the Existing Fat in Your Body and Turn It into Energy:

In addition to preventing new fats from getting or being stored in your body, the third function of an effective herbal weight control formula is to burn the existing fat in your system and turn it into useful energy.  As a result, you will feel energetic, mentally clear and productive.

Before your body can function at its optimal level, it has to clean house!  Drink a lot of water or our caffeine-free Cleansing-Balance Tea to flush the debris; therefore, the cleansing and purging processes can be facilitated.  Also, our Fitness Plus is designed as a fat burner.  This product contains a good amount of Acai berries to facilitate cleansing.  We also use veggie capsules for this product.

All of our products contains no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no corn, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, nor chemicals.  Only the finest ingredients are used in our formulation.  By following our complete program, you can experience steady weight loss of two to three pounds per week- a healthy and safe pace.

In the next article, I will discuss how you can manage your stress effectively, how to restore your spiritual balance, and how to exercise effortlessly without going to the gym.  Stay tuned!

In Part 1 of this article, I addressed three natural remedies for Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS), including yeast-free nutrition, herbal detox, and hormonal regeneration.  A yeast-free nutritional approach will prevent allergens such as simple sugars, dairy, wheat, and yeasts from entering the body.  In the pre-menstrual period, I recommended to increase the intake of complex carbohydrates and crucifers such as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and brussel sprouts.  This type of food will help reduce the amount of hormones such as prostaglandin, estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, and thus reduce water retention, bloating, weight gain, and mood swings.

If you want to learn more about what you can eat and what you should avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook: Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.   Secondly, go on our Herbal Detox (consisting of Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea ) and hormonal regeneration product with Female Vitality.  Our Herbal Detox program removes excess yeasts and parasites, thus cleaning up existing toxins.  Female Vitality balances the female hormonal system and allows the female hormones to work for you instead of against you.

The following are additional natural remedies for PMS:

1)    Exercise:

Exercise is particularly helpful with PMS because it generates endorphins, a morphine from within.  Endorphin is an opium-like, natural substance which reduces pain and gives a calm, high feeling (without the use of drugs)!  Again, don’t wait until you are in the middle of PMS to exercise.  Do 30 minutes of slow walking every day.  This type of exercise will improve your blood circulation and thus reduce the tendency of water retention and muscle aches.  The heavy feeling and cramps in your pelvic area can also be reduced or eliminated.  Regular exercise can also strengthen the muscle tone in your lower abdomen and thus increase the tolerance for pain or discomfort.  A side benefit is that it also helps you become a better lover when you have tight, instead of loose, muscles.  And remember, slow walking is free of charge!

 2)    Hands-On Healing:

Hands-on healing techniques such as therapeutic touch and gentle chiropractic adjustment known as cranio-sacral technique can be very soothing during the onset of PMS.   If you feel too uncomfortable to have anyone touch you while experiencing severe cramps, just put your hand(s) on the area that is cramping, such as the lower abdomen or hip areas.  The healing energy in your own hands can reduce the cramps and give some relief to pain.   You can do this while lying down or sitting up, such as while driving.

 3)    Stress Management:

Women who are under heavy emotional stress often suffer from more PMS.  Your body and mind affect each other at all times.  Emotional stress can cause many kinds of physical problems including PMS.  Remember, all physical illnesses have symbolic meanings.  PMS involves the female reproductive system. It requires the examination of emotional issues concerning one’s femininity.  A woman with a positive self-image usually takes good care of herself and does not give PMS a chance to creep in or sustain itself.

 4)    Sexercise:

The Chinese have long believed that if a young woman has PMS, she will grow out of it after she is married.  Why?  Sexercise!

Sex is the best remedy for PMS.  Good sex increases self-esteem and improves blood circulation.  When you enjoy good quality and quantity of sex with the right partner, you feel loved and energized.

Women who suffer from PMS or menopause usually are sexually inactive whether they are married or not.  Sexual desire and potency do not have to decline with age.  Some of my clients enjoy frequent sex (at least three or four times a week) in their 80s!  You are never too old or too tired for sex!  Remember two principles: 1) you either use it or lose it; and 2) practice makes perfect!   When you learn to enjoy sex on a regular basis, you will learn to enjoy being a female.  Also remember, Female Vitality can help improve sexual function.  When you enjoy being a female or being who you are, chances are you will say goodbye to PMS!

For consultation on yeast-free nutrition, herbal detox, hormonal imbalance, stress management, and spiritual counseling on Skype or telephone, please call us at (800) 715-3053, or send an e-mail to drj@drjsbest.com for an appointment.
