Immune-System-Boosters-2Q.         I am doing much better on Dr. J’s Herbal Detox program for my candida

infections.  I am also on Dr. J’s anti-yeast nutritional program.  How long should I be on the program?

 

A.         It depends on how long you want to have quality of life!   Candida is a member of the yeast family.  Yeasts and parasites are “omnipresent” in human and animal bodies.

 

When your immune system is strong, you can control yeasts and parasites and co-exist with them harmoniously.  When your immune system is compromised, the little enemies will control you.  So, it’s very important for you to keep your immunity strong at all times.

Q.  There is a lot of conflicting information on the Internet regarding Candida Cleansing Diet, what is your opinion on this?

A.  Indeed, it’s like a jungle out there in terms of information regarding the candida cleansing diet.   Oftentimes you are confused about what you can eat and what you should avoid when you try to heal yourself from candidiasis, or yeast and parasitic infections.

First of all, you need to understand that candida is a member of the yeast family.  Candida alone has 40 to 50 strains that are harmful to your health.  When yeasts are present, parasites also thrive.  I call them Siamese Twins.  Therefore, I would refer to yeast and parasite cleanse in this Q&A.

Also, the word “diet” seems to denote the meaning of being “limited” and “short term.”  Therefore, I prefer to call it an “Anti-Yeast Nutritional Program” because you can follow the nutritional principles for life to maintain optimal health.  The anti-yeast nutritional program I recommend contains no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeast, no caffeine, no alcohol, no nicotine, nor chemicals.   I developed these “Eight Commandments” after I conquered a severe case of yeast and parasitic infection, and remained symptom-free for several decades.

In my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking, you will find anti-yeast nutritional principles and recipes that nourish your body, but starve the yeasts and parasites.  The “Eight Commandments” detailed in my anti-yeast cookbook have stood the test of time.  My many clients and myself have been able to get well and stay well because of these anti-yeast nutritional principles.

When your immune system is strong, you can re-introduce food items that are on the no-no list if you go for moderation.   Occasionally, when I indulged on the no-no foods, I had to accept the consequences for it.  For example, if I had a small slice of ultra-sweet fruits such as watermelon, my body can handle it.  However, when I had a bigger slice, I would suffer from sugar headaches for a few days.  It becomes a matter of choice of what consequences you would accept when you deviate from my anti-yeast nutritional principles.

Also, please be aware that diet alone will not cure you when you suffer from chronic yeast and parasitic infections.  You do need to consider herbal therapy to eliminate excess yeasts and parasites quickly so that your body’s innate intelligence can be activated and healing can take place.  I formulated Yeast-Para Control to remove yeasts and parasites simultaneously.  Because yeasts and parasites go hand in hand, if you only treat yeast or only treat parasitic infection, sooner or later, both yeasts and parasites will come back together to “haunt” you.

I also formulated Cleansing-Balance Tea to flush the debris created by Yeast-Para Control.  It’s like this: Yeast-Para Control would scrub the toilet, and Cleansing-Balance Tea would flush the toilet.  When you combine these two formulas (Herbal Detox), together with the anti-yeast nutritional program, your body would begin to heal quickly.

leaky gutWhat is Leaky Gut Syndrome?

According to Wikipedia, leaky gut syndrome is a proposed condition of a damaged bowel lining.  The term is used by some holistic health or alternative medicine practitioners, but is not a recognized diagnosis.   It is hypothesized that leaky gut syndrome is caused by increased permeability of the gut walls resulting from toxins, poor diet, parasites, infection, or medication.  The leaky gut then allows substances such as toxins, microbes, undigested food, waste, or larger than normal macromolecules to leak through an abnormally permeable gut wall.  Proponents propose that these out-of-place substances affect the body directly or initiate an immune reaction.

Symptoms of Leaky Gut Syndrome:

According to my clinical experience, leaky gut syndrome is a cluster of symptoms caused by the digestive tract inflammation.  They include: food allergies, bloating, diarrhea, stomach pain, extreme fatigue, mind fog, poor digestion and absorption, arthritis-like aches and pain, sleeping disorder, etc.  The symptoms mimic several diagnoses such as fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Crohn’s disease, Lyme disease, Irritated Bowel Syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, yeast and parasitic infections, etc.

For many sufferers, it’s just a relief to finally put a name to the symptoms; however, it does not change the fact that their suffering continues.  So, it’s important to know the possible causes of these symptoms and the holistic treatment for them.

Possible causes of Leaky Gut Syndrome:

1)    Yeast and parasitic infections:

Yeasts and parasites use their vampire-like hooks to hook onto the mucous membranes and suck nutrients from the host.  If they develop colonies in the gastric-intestinal tract (GI Tract), then stomach ulcers or leaky guts can be a result.  Not only do they suck nutrients from the host, but they also damage the lining of the walls of the Gastric-intestinal Tract.

2)    Poor dietary habit:

The Standard American Diet (SAD) is loaded with sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, caffeine, alcohol, and chemicals.  The SAD feeds the yeasts and parasites and worsens the symptoms.

3)    Psychological stress:

Carrying negative emotions such as anger, resentment, fear, regret, and guilt is like driving a car with the hand-break on.  It causes wear and tear on the car (your immune system).  When your immunity is weak, all kinds of invaders such as bacteria, viruses, yeasts and parasites can defeat you and cause a variety of illnesses.  That which is eating you psychologically is also eating you physically.

4)    Liberal use of antibiotics and other potent drugs:

The western medical establishment uses antibiotics as a “catch all” magic bullet for all infections without consideration of strengthening the immunity.  Cortisone is another popular drug used to inhibit the inflammation process.  In fact, excessive use of antibiotics and cortisone destroys the immunity, because the potent drugs kill both the good and bad bacteria floras in your intestines.  The “bad guys” such as harmful yeasts take no time to come back; while the “good guys” take a long time to rebuild.  Yeasts are airborne, and they are “omnipresent.”  They can re-enter your weak body anywhere, anytime.  Thus, an imbalance is created.   A vicious circle ensues.   To make the situation more complicated, when yeasts are present, parasites also thrive because of their symbiotic relationships.   As I explained in previous articles, when yeasts ferment, they create a chemical substance called “propyl alcohol” and that substance feeds parasites.  To return the favor, parasites use their body surface as a platform for yeasts to grow and expand.

When people develop leaky gut syndrome, usually they encounter all the factors I described above.  Leaky gut syndrome can be repaired if you employ a holistic approach, and be patient with yourself, and with your life!

Jan. 31, 2013 — The risk of hospitalization or death from heart disease is almost a third lower in vegetarians than in people who eat meat and fish, according to a new study.

Researchers from the University of Oxford in England say the health benefits of not eating meat likely stem from having lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

But heart experts caution that following a vegetarian diet is unlikely to be enough to prevent heart disease.

Major Killer

Heart disease is the largest cause of death in developed countries.

The study looked at 44,561 men and women living in England and Scotland who were enrolled during the 1990s in a separate Oxford study looking at links betweencancer and nutrition.

Researchers used this database because of the unusually high number of vegetarians enlisted: 34% of the people.

All the people were asked about their health and lifestyles when they joined. This included questions about diet and exercise, as well as other factors affecting health such as smoking and drinking alcohol. Almost 20,000 participants also had their blood pressures recorded and gave blood samples for cholesterol testing.

The volunteers were tracked until 2009. During that time, researchers recorded 1,066 people with heart disease and 169 deaths from heart disease.

The researchers found that vegetarians had a 32% lower risk of developing heart disease than those who ate fish and meat. They did not differentiate between red and white meat, nor did they track how much meat was eaten.

Blood Pressure and Cholesterol

“We didn’t look at the specific components of the vegetarian diet that might contribute to the lower risk of heart disease in this study, but because the vegetarians have lower blood cholesterol, it is probably because they have a lower intake of saturated fat and a higher intake of polyunsaturated fat,” says Francesca Crowe, who led the study.

Crowe says the vegetarians also ate more fruits, vegetables, and fiber, which might have contributed to their lower risk of heart disease.

The researchers say lower blood pressure among the vegetarians is likely to be an important factor.

Additionally, vegetarians typically had a lower body mass index (BMI) and fewer cases of diabetes (although these were not found to significantly affect the results). If the results are adjusted to exclude the effects of BMI, vegetarians are 28% less likely to develop heart disease, the researchers say.

The study appears in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Q.         Why are some people more prone to candidiasis (yeast infections) than others?

A.         This is a good question!  Sometimes you feel “it’s not fair” that others are eating sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, and other yeast-favorite food, and yet they don’t have candidiasis.  On the contrary, you have to watch everything you eat, and yet, you still suffer from the symptoms of yeast and parasitic infections.

The answer is actually very simple.  The stress level everybody perceived in life determines your susceptibility to yeast and parasitic infections.  As I detailed in my book: Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, “so far as physical health is concerned, yeast and parasitic infections are the roots of all evil; and psychological stress is the core of these roots!”  Stress suppresses your immunity.  When your immunity is compromised, all kinds of microbial organisms such as yeasts, parasites, bacteria, and viruses can act up and create symptoms from head to toe.
