Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form of arthritis.  It affects about 8 million people in the United Kingdom and about 27 million people in the United States.

The symptoms of OA include aches and pain and stiffness of the joints.  In severe cases, the joints (especially small joints such as fingers) can be deformed.

The most common cause of OA identified by the medical community is wear and tear.  Based on my several decades of clinical observation, there are multiple causes for OA including poor dietary habit, yeast and parasitic infections, immobility, stress and carrying negative emotions.  Therefore, it requires a holistic approach to effectively treat OA.  The following are my recommendations:

Prayers and Chanting:

In order to connect your healing to a spiritual level, pray to the divine intelligence for guidance to the right resources so that you can heal whatever ails you within the least possible time.  Prayers are free, so what are you waiting for?

Chanting is the repetition of certain mantras.  Some of the mantras invoke help for healing.  Regardless of your religious beliefs, when you chant sincerely from your heart, you receive results.  Again, chanting is free.  What can you lose but your OA symptoms?

Exercise:

Yeasts and parasites love a still environment.  You need to keep moving to facilitate your blood circulation and energy flow; otherwise, a stagnated sewage system will create blockage and disease.  Low-impact exercise such as slow walking and in-place jogging are excellent for people with osteoarthritis.  Start with a few minutes and gradually build up.

 

Mental Detox:

There is a spiritual meaning for every physical symptom.  Arthritis in any form, such as osteoarthritis (OA) or rheumatoid arthritis (RA), symbolizes that you suppress your anger and frustration in your joints.  In order to get into a state of “permanent remission,” you need to learn to let go of negative emotions that are the core of your physical suffering.

When people suffer a severe case of yeast and parasitic infections, not only are their bodies toxic, but so are their minds!  These people usually have had traumatic childhood or early adulthood experiences which have made them angry, resentful, frustrated, regretful and negative.  As mentioned previously, carrying negative emotions day in and day out is just like driving your car with the hand brake on.  It will cause a lot of wear and tear on your immune system!  Based on my experiences counseling thousands of people thus far, I have found that psychological stress is actually the most important cause for adult onset of yeast and parasitic infections!  If these negative emotions are not released effectively, the rest of the regimens discussed so far would only provide a temporary relief.

In the previous article, I mentioned that when you experience fear of failure or fear of success, you act on undetected weaknesses, negative emotions, lack of self love, lack of confidence, and low self esteem.   Even though you chose to stay in your comfort zone, you don’t necessarily enjoy the status quo.

So, how does one break through the cocoon and enjoy the freedom and color of a butterfly?  The following are successful strategies to break the negative pattern of self-sabotage and set you free:

1.  Change your thinking:

Instead of thinking “This is too hard.  I can’t handle it!”  The counter thought is “This is challenging.  Let me see what I can do.  With divine guidance, I believe that everything will be worked out.”  When you think positively, the universe will obligate itself to bring you solutions!

2.  Focus on the “silver lining:”

Every cloud has a silver lining.  Think back on the times when you thought “This is the end of the world.”  In most cases, everything still worked itself out in the end (you’re still here reading this, for example).  In fact, when you look back, you might even say, “It’s a blessing that the ‘bad’ situation happened!”  When you focus on the positive thoughts, your mind has no room for the negative emotions.

3.  Increase self-love:

Self-love is the foundation of all healing!  What is self-love?  Treat yourself as the top priority in your life!  For example, budget money and allocate time for your health, your total well-being, and quality of life.  Treat yourself to such things as periodic massage, manicure, healthy eating, and regular exercise because you deserve it!  Any deviations would indicate that you don’t really love yourself.  When you love yourself, you feel strong and unstoppable.  When you don’t love yourself, you feel weak and easily defeated.  Life is a matter of choice.  Which choice would you prefer?

4.  Increase self-confidence:

Confidence comes from experience and knowledge.  The more experiences you have in life, the more wisdom and confidence you will accumulate.  You learn and grow from every life experience.  The harder the life situation, the more you will learn, grow, and expand.  So, when the hardship arises, you will tell yourself with confidence, “This too, shall pass!” When you can reach that state of mind, you will be able to experience serenity in the midst of a storm.

5.  Increase self-esteem:

If you can accomplish all of the above, it is inevitable that your self-esteem will increase.  You will not need negative attention by being sick, or indulging in complaints, or being overweight to protect yourself.  You are the master of your emotions; you can keep them under control.  You will not override your integrity to sabotage yourself!

Do you “sabotage” yourself at times?  If you do, don’t despair!  You can change this bad habit.

Through working with clients from all walks of life, I have found that self-sabotage behavior is very common due to fear of failure or fear of success.

When fear of failure is engulfing you, you might say to yourself:

“I can’t handle this!”

“This is too hard!”

“This is the worst thing ever!”

“This is the end of the world!”

Engaging in this kind of thought pattern will stifle your innate intelligence and weaken your problem solving ability.

Another kind of fear which leads to self-sabotage is fear of success.  When this kind of fear tip toes around you, you might say to yourself:

“When I am rich, I won’t have real friends.  People come to me because they want my money!”

“When I am famous, I won’t have genuine friends.  People surround me because they want to borrow my image.”

“When I am rich and famous, I would be too busy.  I won’t have time for myself.”

“When I am healthy, I won’t be able to get the attention while I am sick.”

“When I am slim and attractive, I might attract the wrong kind of people.”

The list goes on.

Both types of fears act on undetected weakness, negative emotions, lack of self love, lack of confidence, and low self esteem.   Even though you chose to stay in your comfort zone, you don’t necessarily enjoy the status quo.

In order to control your weight permanently, you need to nourish your body, mind, and spirit on a consistent basis.  In the previous articles,  I discussed strategies to nourish your body.  To summarize, it’s important to follow a yeast-free nutritional program so your body will not suffer new assaults.  It’s also important to use Herbal Cocktail to curb your appetitite, stop sugar craving, nourish your body, and starve yeasts and parasites.  In addition, you can faciliate weight loss the safe and healthy way by using Fitness Regular as a fat blocker, and Fitness Plus as a fat burner.

The following strategies will help you effectively manage your stress, nourish your mind, and balance your spirit:

Manage Your Stress Effectively:

Psychological stress, if managed properly, can be motivating and beneficial.  The first step is to accept instead of resist stress.  Accept the fact that you are being challenged.  Be cognizant of the fact that Life is like school: before you can obtain a diploma or degree, you must be willing and able to do your homework and pass a series of tests, whether pleasant or unpleasant.  The good news is that even if you fail, the universe will provide you with unlimited opportunities to go through the tests again and again until you pass them!  Therefore, your clock is not ticking.  Time is irrelevant!

Follow the Emotional Releasing Technique instructions in Chapter 11 of Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, to release your psychological toxins and allow yourself to move on with your life with a clean slate.    Some self-administered techniques such as self-hypnosis, meditation, prayers and affirmations can also be helpful in reducing stress physically and psychologically.  If psychological stress becomes paralyzing, then you should seek competent professional help.

Restore Spiritual Balance:

Spiritually speaking, all of us chose our destiny when we were born into this life.  No matter what kind of life situation we are in, we are given an opportunity to prove that we have the strength, tenacity, wisdom and faith to overcome obstacles and excel.

The only way to get out of the rut of a dysfunctional life situation is to exercise your unconditional love and wisdom.

Use the principles described in Chapter 11 of Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healingto understand, accept, forgive and release.  Once you can release the negative emotions toward those who have done you wrong, you can release the negative past that has been haunting you.  When you no longer carry the old baggage, you no longer carry the excess weight!  Love and respect yourself as the most unique, creative and miraculous person in the world.  If you cannot accomplish this on your own, seeking help from a spiritually-oriented, well-grounded therapist can be fruitful.

Exercise Daily:

One last thing I want to stress is the importance of exercising daily.  It’s clear that exercise improves your blood circulation, brings more oxygen to your body cells, burns calories, and generate endorphins.  Endorphins are natural hormones, and can be considered as morphine from within.  Morphine is a pain killer.  If you experience stiffness or arthritic pain, exercise will reduce or eliminate the aches and pains.   From a psychological perspective, endorphins also gives you calm, high feelings.  Because these feelings don’t last, you need to exercise daily to generate new supplies of endorphins.

You might say, “I don’t have membership to a gym!”  You can exercise without a gym. Slow walking in your neighborhood or park for 30 minutes a day is a good way to exercise.  Or, you may jog in place for 10 minutes a day to start.  Where there is a will, there is a way!

Your weight and health problems did not occur overnight.  Naturally, becoming trim and getting well takes time.  Only your understanding of the illness and wellness process, commitment and patience will bring you positive and permanent results!

The best way to detox is combining four steps to remove both physical and mental toxins so that your system has a clean slate to heal, regenerate, and function at its optimal level.

The following Zen Buddhist story depicts the choice and consequences of “letting go” vs. “Holding on.”  Please share your comments!

          Two monks were travelling on foot.  When they reached the bank of the river, they saw a woman who was trying to cross the river.  After a rainfall, the usually shallow river had filled with rapid running water.  It was getting dark and the young woman was hesitant to cross that seemingly dangerous river.  One of the monks volunteered to carry her on his back and in such a manner safely reached the other side of the riverbank.  He let her off his back, said goodbye and hurried on.

                     The two monks rested at a deserted temple that night.  The monk who carried the woman across the river was quickly sound asleep.  The other monk, however, was tossing back and forth.  Finally he shook the shoulder of the sleeping monk.  The awakened monk said, “Brother, what’s the matter?  Why are you still awake?  Come on, get some sleep.  We have a long journey tomorrow!”

          The other monk answered angrily, “How can you sleep after what you have done today?  We are monks.  We are not supposed to look women straight in the eye.  How dare you carry a young woman over your shoulders and think nothing of it?  How dare you?!”

          Here was the reply: “Brother, when I reached the riverbank, I dropped the woman off my back.  Why do you still carry her over your shoulders?”

 

          Dysfunctional behavior served a purpose at one point, but now it’s time to let go, and move on!  Otherwise, consider the consequences.  Negative emotions not only rob you of a peaceful life, they are also linked with degenerative diseases such as AIDS, cancer, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Crohn’s disease, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and yeast disorders.  Don’t you prefer to live more comfortably, peacefully, and happily?
