In my previous two articles, I stressed that in order to reduce or eradicate the decomposing effects of the fungal spores, you need to clean both the external and internal environments.  In this article, I will focus on controlling the internal environment: Your body.

Fungal spores may enter the body through the air you breathe, the water you drink, the dust on your furniture, the food you eat, the fur from pets, etc.  The function of fungal spores is to decompose (ferment) the medium for food.  When your immune system is strong, you can co-exist with these transparent creatures.  When your immunity is weak, members of the fungal family such as yeasts and candida albicans may “occupy” your body causing you to suffer yeast overgrowth symptoms from head to toe such as headaches, mind fog, fatigue, depression, allergies, arthritis-like aches and pain, skin rash, fungal nails, etc.

The following are essential natural remedies to control yeast overgrowth in your body:

1.    Yeast Free Nutritional Program:

Sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine are favorite food for yeasts.  Eliminating this type of food from your diet can starve harmful yeasts and control their overgrowth.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

2.    Herbal Therapy:

When your body suffers from a chronic case of yeast overgrowth (or candidiasis), you need strong herbal formulas to “clean house”.  Our Yeast-Para Control formula is designed to remove excess yeasts and parasites simultaneously since they go hand in hand like Siamese Twins.  Cleansing-Balance Tea is designed to flush the debris that Yeast-Para Control creates, and cleanse the liver and kidneys.  Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea form a strong herbal detox program to treat and prevent yeast overgrowth.

If symptoms of fatigue, mind fog, depression, and loss of sexual interest are present, Female Vitality or Male Vitality is essential to fight them.  Herbal Cocktail, a high-protein drink, is very beneficial to balance the weight problems (either over-weight or under-weight) due to yeast overgrowth.  It is also very effective in stopping sugar cravings.

3.    Physical exercise:

Since fungal spores thrive in still environments, you need to exercise daily to improve your blood circulation and energy flow and not to give them a chance to grow in your body.  I know the last thing you want to do is exercise when you feel fatigued.  Motivate yourself to start with some low-impact exercise such as slow walking or in-place jogging.  You may start with 10 minutes, and then gradually increase to 30 minutes, to an hour.

4.    Mental exercise

Stress is the main cause to lower your immunity and weaken your body’s defense.  Stress is a part of life.  You simply need to learn how to effectively manage stress.  In my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, there are many techniques such as releasing negative emotions, 10-minute meditation, writing letters in a proper format to finish “unfinished” business, prayers, affirmations, etc.  Practice these techniques daily, and make stress become a motivating factor for you to move forward!

Yeast, mold, and mushrooms are all members of fungal family.  Fungus is a plant-like organism.  Fungus cannot manufacture its own food and must live on other organisms.  Fungus breaks down the dead body of other plants or animals and turns it into starch or sugar as its food. This process is called decomposition.

Decomposition provides the fungus with the energy necessary to survive and reproduce. Fungus reproduces by forming reproductive cells called spores. When the spores settle on a proper medium for their nutrition, they begin to grow on and decompose its medium.  If the medium is a dead body, the decomposition helps the recycling process of nature.

However, if the spores settle on and decompose a live body, the medium can become very ill.  The symptoms of this “live body decomposition” can range from head to toe.  For humans, for example, they include headaches, sinus congestion, strep throat, allergies, mind fog, depression, fatigue, arthritis-like aches and pain, fungal nails, athlete’s foot, eczema, etc.

Where are these spores from?  Because these spores are air-born, they can be from anywhere.  They can be in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the dust on furniture, raw food, etc.

What are the environmental factors ideal for the growth of these fungal spores (especially mold)?  Dampness, moisture, still air, no sunlight, warm temperatures (not extreme heat or cold), dust, etc. provide an incubation for fungus to grow.

In the next article, I will discuss how to eliminate the environmental factors for the fungus to grow.  Stay tuned.

Fungi have an extended family.  Yeasts belong to the fungus family which consists of at least 100,000 to 250,000 species.  They include yeasts, mold, mildew, rots, smuts and mushrooms.  The characteristic of fungi is the lack of chlorophyll.  Consequently, they cannot perform photosynthesis and are parasitic and saprophytic (feeding off dead organisms).

The function of yeasts is to break down dead bodies so that organic matter can be turned into its basic elements of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and phosphorus.  Without yeasts, we could be in serious trouble because dead bodies of animals and plants would just pile up.  We need yeasts to assist in the recycling of ecology.

However, overgrowth of yeasts can also break down living organisms.  There are at least 20 to 30 different types of pathogenic yeasts which cause illnesses.  Candida is one member of the yeast family.  Candida albicans alone has 50 to 60 different strains which cause infections.  Consequently, it is no surprise that almost every individual in contemporary society suffers from yeast infections at one time or another, to a greater or lesser degree.

The most effective way for treating yeast infections or candidiasis is using a holistic approach including yeast-free nutrition, herbal therapy, stress management, and spiritual counseling.   For more information, visit www.drjsbest.com.  I also provide consultation via telephone or Skype.  For appointment, call (800) 715-3053 or e-mail: drj@drjsbest.com.
