According to the western medical establishment, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is said to be an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of joints and crippling aches and pains.  Numerous drugs have been invented to treat the aches and pains.  The most recent invention is a self-injection drug.  However, all drugs available for RA treatment have a long list of side effects including severe infections that may lead to death.

Through my experience working with people with RA, I have found that RA is a cluster of symptoms including aches and pains of joints, curled fingers, fatigue, low energy, and mind fog.

The following are common causes of RA reported by my clients and the associated effective holistic treatment:

1.    Food Allergies:

Dairy products including milk, cheese, ice cream, butter and yogurt tend to produce mucous and cause inflammations.  Sugar, wheat, and yeasts are also allergens that contribute to RA.  Once my clients wean themselves off these types of foods, they experience a marked improvement in their health conditions.  A yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, nor chemicals works very effectively for RA symptom relief.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow the principles in my yeast-free cook book: Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

2.    Yeast and Parasitic Infections

Yeasts and parasites love to develop colonies in the joints.  The sacs connecting the bones contain fluids that are rich in protein and sugar. Thus, they are good incubators for yeasts and parasites.  How do we contract yeasts and parasites?  Yeasts are everywhere.  They are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the dusty furniture we touch.  Parasites can also be easily found in drinking water, produce, fruits, skin of household pets, etc.

The quickest way to control the overgrowth of yeasts and parasites is to take our Herbal Detox program (Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea).

Many of my clients see the evidence in their toilet in just a few days of being on our program: they see cloudy urine, mucousy stools, seed-like stuff (eggs of parasites), or even mature worms in their stool.

Female Vitality or Male Vitality is also recommended for strengthening connective tissues, uplifting the mood, increasing energy, and improving mental clarity.

3.    Dampness:

Cold and damp air will worsen arthritic pain.  This is why warmer weather will help relieve symptoms.  If moving to a warmer area is not feasible for you, then soaking in a warm bath or Jacuzzi regularly can help symptom relief.

4.    Poor Blood Circulation

Low-impact exercise such as Tai-Chi or slow walking can be very beneficial for improving blood circulation.  If you have a sexual partner, sexercise is also a great remedy for improving the blood circulation and relieving arthritic pain!  If you could massage problem areas of your body yourself, do it frequently.  If not, you may want to hire help.  All of these remedies can improve blood circulation and reduce aches and pains.

5.    Unresolved Anger and Frustration

From an emotional perspective, when you have unresolved anger and frustration, these negative emotions can be lodged in your joints, and cause you arthritic pain.  I call it “allergic reactions to life”.  Apply the principles of the four steps of emotional releasing: “Understand, Accept, Forgive and Release” in my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing.   You will be able to release any negative emotions that block the flow of your energy.

Only when you adopt a holistic approach, can you find freedom from physical and emotional pain.

My mom had a stroke last year (she was 83 years old) when there was heat wave in her area.  Her symptoms then included cognitive impairment (disorientation), slurred speech, and weakness of the right hand and right leg.  I placed her on herbal and massage therapy in addition to her routine of prayers and a vegetarian diet.  She has been taking my herbal formulas religiously and doing low-impact exercises every day for the past year.  Now she is able to walk steadily on her feet, has remained very alert and coherent, and recovered a good appetite.  The only thing that keeps her from a full recovery is that her right fingers have not regained full flexibility.  For an 84 year old woman, I must say that she is doing exceptionally well.

People have asked what herbal formulas she has been taking and why.  Here is the regimen and rationale:

1. Herbal therapy

Herbal Detox: Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea

When people have a stroke (cardio-vascular accident — CVA), their immunity is often compromised.  It’s important to remove toxins and build up their immunity to prevent complications such as pneumonia, colds and flu.

Hormonal Regeneration: Female Vitality

This product strengthens her connective tissues, improves her mental clarity, and increases her energy.

Weight Management: Fitness Regular

I placed my mom on a partial weight management program because she did not want to take too many items (sounds familiar?).  I was able to convince her to take the most essential item for her health condition.

I originally formulated Fitness Regular as a fat blocker.  Over the past 15 years, my clients have reported the side benefits of balancing blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.  It also improves blood circulation.  My mom stated that she had never deviated from my instructions in taking this one.

2. Daily Exercise

My mom has been doing a form of low-impact exercise which is similar to Qi-Kong (Chi-Kong) – a Kung-Fu exercise to improve energy flow.  She also massages her curled right fingers with her left hand.  Right now her right fingers are not as curled as last year when the stroke first occurred.

3.   Prayers

Being a religious Buddhist, my mom’s daily routine includes prayers and chanting Buddhist Sutra.

4.  Dietary habit

My mom is a vegetarian.  Her diet is as healthy as it can get.  My new suggestions included reducing the intake of sugar (sugary food), wheat (bread and pastries), and yeast (mushrooms).

When I flew up to see her last week, I was very pleased with I saw.  Basically she is ambulatory and independent.  I am very grateful that she was able to recover from the stroke to a great extent.
