allergiesFlu season starts to peak in November and continues through April.  Experts say we are entering one of the worst flu seasons in recent history.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend getting your flu vaccine in the months of October and November in order to help prevent flu and colds.  However, even the flu shot may not capture all strains of flu.  Many of my clients reported that they became sick after getting the flu shot.

Here are my recommendations to treat and prevent flu and colds via a natural, drug-free, holistic approach:

1.  Proper Hydration:

When you are dehydrated, the “sewage system” in your body is stagnated.  Diseases of all kinds can use that unhealthy environment as an incubator.  How much fluid should you have everyday?  Usually I recommend eight to 10 cups of fluids (each cup about 8 oz.)   This can include six cups of our Cleansing-Balance Tea, one to three cups of purified drinking water, and one cup of soup.  Our Cleansing-Balance Tea not only hydrates you, but also cleanses your liver and kidneys.

2.  Plenty of Rest:

3.  Avoiding Cold and Damp Environment

To combat this year’s freezing climate, get a space heater to keep you dry and warm in the room you work or rest.  I purchased a space heater online for about $15.  This is truly a lifesaver and doesn’t incur a large electricity bill for heating the entire home.

4.  Anti-Yeast Nutritional Program

Whenever possible, avoid sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and chemicals.  They are favorite foods for yeasts and parasites.  The Standard American Diet (SAD) is loaded with the above.  If you follow my “Eight Commandments,” you will be able to prevent new assaults to your body.  My yeast-free cookbook: Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking will guide you to learn more about what to eat and what to avoid.

5.  Herbal Therapy to Improve Your Immunity:

When your immunity is strong, yeasts, parasites, bacteria or viruses will not be able to cause havoc in your body.  Your immune cells will act like a Pac Man to clean up these invaders before they have a chance to cause you illnesses.  Our Herbal Detox program (Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea) is designed to control the overgrowth of yeasts and parasites and remove toxins in your body, so that you can keep your immunity strong.  If your energy is low and your mental concentration is poor, I would suggest that you also add Female Vitality or Male Vitality, depending on your sex.

6.  Stress Reduction:

If you perceive that your life is stressful, in addition to daily meditation using my 10-minute meditation guide, prayers or chanting can be very effective in reducing stress.  Some people only pray or chant when they need help.  Prayers or chanting are like spiritual showers.  Your physical body can smell when you don’t take a shower everyday; likewise your spiritual being smells when you don’t pray or chant everyday.  Prayers are free.  Keep praying or chanting everyday to reduce your stress and maintain your physical and spiritual wellbeing.

7.  Daily Exercise

Regular exercise improves your blood circulation, transportation of nutrition, and secretion of endorphins.  Endorphins are natural morphine produced within your body.  They enable you to feel that you are in a calm yet high state naturally through exercise.  You can exercise anywhere.  I usually do in-place jogging while praying more than 300 times a day at the same time, everyday, rain or shine!

I believe in Dr. J and her products!  I used to catch flu and colds all the time from my grandchildren who are school kids.  I have been on Dr. J’s Herbal Detox program (Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea) and Female Vitality for one month.  I am amazed that when my husband and grandchildren caught colds, I don’t get them like I used to!  Obviously my immune system has become stronger because of the herbs!

I also follow the principles in Dr. J’s books (Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing and Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking).  They certainly help me stay away from sugar, dairy, and wheat products.  Actually it’s not that hard when I learned to use the substitutes based on Dr. J’s cookbook.

Dr. J recommended that I should stay on the full dosage of the herbal formulas for another three to six months.  Needlessly to say, I am ordering the herbal products again!  Thanks Dr. J!

Many people across the globe approach this holiday with new expectations and hopes for a healthy and prosperous year, while weaving in home traditions and rituals passed down from ancestors.  The holiday season can be a joyous occasion; however, it can also wear us down with additional responsibilities and stresses.

Ask yourself: do you feel sluggish, anxious, stressed, depressed, or catch the flu or cold easily during or after the holiday season?  If so, read on!

You may get physically sick and/or emotionally distressed during the holiday season for multiple reasons.  The following are some common ones:

Physically and Mentally Overloaded

During the holiday season, you may take on more activities (such as shopping) than usual in order to prepare for holiday gatherings and celebrations.  This puts your body, mind and spirit into “overwork mode”.  An overworked machine needs down time; so does your body!

Overgrowth of Yeast and Parasites

The availability of junk food during the holiday season presents tests for your will power.  You might fail these tests and spoil your healthy eating habits.  Once the little enemies (yeast and parasites) in your body are well fed with their favorite foods (including sugar, dairy, wheat, yeast, alcohol, caffeine, nicotine and chemicals), they have a “rock ‘n roll party!”  After they have a good time, they deposit their eliminations in your body.  This is the major reason that you get sick during the holiday seasons.  Your liver and kidneys are particularly vulnerable when your body is loaded with toxins; they act like oil and air filters in a car.  What happens when these filters in your car become dirty?  You know the answer!

Unfinished Business

Old life events might replay like old tapes in your head if you did not work through certain emotional issues.  When you live in an unpleasant past, your feelings of love, joy, and gratitude are blocked.  Regardless of the current life situation you are in, you cannot appreciate and enjoy the here and now.  You feel depressed because you focus on what you don’t want, instead of what you want.

Can you combat the holiday blues and attain the state of peace, love and harmony?  Yes!

Here are some suggestions and recommendations for you:

1)    Treat every day like a holiday!

Get together with your friends or relatives on a regular basis, so that there is no need to cram a lot of gatherings into the holiday season.  A holiday is merely one of 365 days in the year.  If you don’t make it “special”, there will not be special meanings attached to it!

2)    Give your presents before or after the holidays.

There is no rule dictating that you can only give your presents on certain days of the year.  Create your own schedule for holiday gift giving.  Make it simple and useful.  I usually mail a check to my gift recipients before the holidays.  Therefore there will be no unwanted gifts. Many of my clients order and drop ship books and herbal formulas to their loved ones.  Nice and easy, and your thoughtfulness will be appreciated!

3)    Maintain your daily routine.

Keep your ordinary schedule of arising, sleeping, exercising, resting and eating at certain times.  Avoid the holiday frenzy.  Your metabolism is at its optimal level when your body follows a harmonious biological rhythm!

4)    Follow a Yeast-Free Nutritional Program.

5)    Control the Overgrowth of Yeast and Parasites.

When you control the overgrowth of yeast and parasites in your body, you will minimize the amount of toxic waste deposited in your body, and allow your body’s innate intelligence to function at its optimal level.  As a result, you will enjoy heightened energy and mental clarity to handle holiday-related stress.   The best way to achieve this state is taking potent herbal formulas designed to remove excess yeast and parasites simultaneously.  Yeast and parasites are like Siamese Twins.  You must treat yeast and parasitic infections simultaneously in order to reclaim your health!

6)    Meditate daily to ensure quiet time.

7)    Remove mental toxins in addition to cleansing physical toxins.

If the holidays remind you of unpleasant previous life experiences and cause you depression, then it’s time to clean house!  Consult with an experienced therapist who specializes in spiritual psychotherapy.  Emotional traumas that have occurred in the past can be reprogrammed.  Therefore, you can start your life with a clean slate.

Remember, life is a series of tests.  Allow yourself to “graduate” from each level of “schooling” that you encounter.  Always ask yourself,” What can I learn from this life event?”  When you feel alone, frustrated, tired, or depressed, just drop on your knees and pray for solutions.  Always P. U. S. H.  – Pray Until Something Happens.  Whether you believe in a higher presence or not, it does not matter!  It’s free of charge.  What have you got to lose?
