Q.  There is a lot of conflicting information on the Internet regarding Candida Cleansing Diet, what is your opinion on this?

A.  Indeed, it’s like a jungle out there in terms of information regarding the candida cleansing diet.   Oftentimes you are confused about what you can eat and what you should avoid when you try to heal yourself from candidiasis, or yeast and parasitic infections.

First of all, you need to understand that candida is a member of the yeast family.  Candida alone has 40 to 50 strains that are harmful to your health.  When yeasts are present, parasites also thrive.  I call them Siamese Twins.  Therefore, I would refer to yeast and parasite cleanse in this Q&A.

Also, the word “diet” seems to denote the meaning of being “limited” and “short term.”  Therefore, I prefer to call it an “Anti-Yeast Nutritional Program” because you can follow the nutritional principles for life to maintain optimal health.  The anti-yeast nutritional program I recommend contains no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeast, no caffeine, no alcohol, no nicotine, nor chemicals.   I developed these “Eight Commandments” after I conquered a severe case of yeast and parasitic infection, and remained symptom-free for several decades.

In my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking, you will find anti-yeast nutritional principles and recipes that nourish your body, but starve the yeasts and parasites.  The “Eight Commandments” detailed in my anti-yeast cookbook have stood the test of time.  My many clients and myself have been able to get well and stay well because of these anti-yeast nutritional principles.

When your immune system is strong, you can re-introduce food items that are on the no-no list if you go for moderation.   Occasionally, when I indulged on the no-no foods, I had to accept the consequences for it.  For example, if I had a small slice of ultra-sweet fruits such as watermelon, my body can handle it.  However, when I had a bigger slice, I would suffer from sugar headaches for a few days.  It becomes a matter of choice of what consequences you would accept when you deviate from my anti-yeast nutritional principles.

Also, please be aware that diet alone will not cure you when you suffer from chronic yeast and parasitic infections.  You do need to consider herbal therapy to eliminate excess yeasts and parasites quickly so that your body’s innate intelligence can be activated and healing can take place.  I formulated Yeast-Para Control to remove yeasts and parasites simultaneously.  Because yeasts and parasites go hand in hand, if you only treat yeast or only treat parasitic infection, sooner or later, both yeasts and parasites will come back together to “haunt” you.

I also formulated Cleansing-Balance Tea to flush the debris created by Yeast-Para Control.  It’s like this: Yeast-Para Control would scrub the toilet, and Cleansing-Balance Tea would flush the toilet.  When you combine these two formulas (Herbal Detox), together with the anti-yeast nutritional program, your body would begin to heal quickly.

As I stated in previous publications, yeasts and parasites are the “root of all evil” when health is concerned, and stress is the core of these roots.  Therefore, if you want to have long-lasting results, you must manage your stress effectively.  In my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, there are several techniques you can use to reduce your stress.  They include meditation, releasing deep-rooted negative emotions, prayers, and affirmations.  To start, you may go to our website: www.drjsbest.com to download a free 10-Minute Meditation Guide to reduce stress and increase your general wellbeing.

Q.        I had radiotherapy for my throat cancer.  The treatment burned my throat and I have difficulty swallowing.  I am hungry and thirsty.  I feel very weak.  What would you recommend?  I am residing outside of the U. S., how can I get your products and services?

A.        Obviously you are malnourished and dehydrated.  The most important thing now is to get some nutrients and liquid in your body.  Since you have difficulty swallowing solid foods, I would suggest that you drink our herbal smoothie at least three times a day.

****************************************************************************************************

Here is the recipe:

1 cup of rice milk, or soy milk or almond milk

1 cup of purified water

1 scoop of Herbal Cocktail (powder)

2 capsules of Yeast-Para Control (break the capsules, just use the powder content)

2 capsules of Female Vitality (break the capsules, just use the powder content)

1 ripe banana (skin peeled, sliced)

Put the mixture in the blender on high speed for 10 seconds.

**********************************************************************************************

I created this herbal smoothie recipe for children or adults who could not swallow capsules.  This recipe has been experimented and perfected to make it delicious without the “herby taste”.  This herbal smoothie will be ideal for you to nourish and hydrate your body; therefore, you can rebuild your strength and immunity.

For meals, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking  to make brown rice gruel (porridges) and different variety of soups.

From the psychological perspective, any cancer involving the throat area usually  symbolizes that you have suppressed anger and have not expressed your anger verbally.  Follow the guidelines in my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, to write letters to release the negative emotions in a proper way so that you can finish some “unfinished business.”

My books are available in hard copy or e-books.  We ship our herbal products and books worldwide.  You can place your order online: www.drjsbest.com, or call me at (818) 472-2213, or send me an e-mail at drj@drjsbest.com.  Consultation on the phone or over Skype is also available.  My Skype name: academyofvibranthealth.

The conventional treatment for hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) is using synthroid at various dosages to match with your body’s production of triiodothyronine (T-3) and thyroxine (T-4).  Synthroid is a synthetic hormone identical to the natural hormones in your body.  Because the production of T3 and T4 fluctuates based on your body’s need to metabolize sugar and fats you consume, the dosage of synthroid needs to be adjusted to avoid overdose of the drug.  Frequent visits to your doctor’s office are essential for blood tests to determine the T3 and T4 levels.

Many of my clients have decided to take their health in their hands by improving their life styles, and go for natural remedies.

The following are common natural remedies for hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid):

Yeast –Free Nutritional Program:

As mentioned in previous articles, excessive intake of sugar and fats make the thyroid gland overworked and exhausted.  Therefore, it’s essential to feed your body with a yeast-free nutritional program that contains no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, nor chemicals.  These items are favorite foods for yeasts and parasites.  When you are on the yeast-free nutritional program, you feed your body – but starve the little enemies within.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Herbal Detox:

Yeasts and parasites develop colonies at the weak parts of your body.  Herbal therapy is essential to getting rid of the excessive yeasts and parasites so your body’s innate intelligence will have a clean slate to heal.  Since yeasts and parasites are like Siamese twins (they go hand in hand) a potent herbal formula is needed to remove both yeasts and parasites simultaneouslyYeast-Para Control is designed for this purpose.

Cleansing-Balance Tea is designed to cleanse your liver and kidneys, and remove the “debris” created by Yeast-Para Control.  Therefore, the combination of Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea works wonders for detoxification!

Hormonal Regeneration:

Female Vitality or Male Vitality is designed to balance your hormones, increase cool, calm energy, improve your mental concentration, metabolism, and productivity, reactivate your libido, and uplift your mood.  For those who want to reduce the dosage of synthroid or not taking synthroid at all, Female Vitality or Male Vitality is a good supplement or replacement.

Stress:

Stress is part of daily life.  Stress can be a motivating force for you move forward.  One just needs to learn stress management techniques to make stress work for you instead of against you.

Daily meditation, stress releasing technique, prayers, affirmations and meditative walks are all helpful self-administered methods to manage stress properly.  For details regarding all these stress management techniques, please read my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing.

Adequate Iodine Intake:

The trace mineral iodine is essential for the production of thyroid hormones.  Many Americans have iodine deficiency.  Sea vegetables such as kelp is an excellent source of iodine.  One table spoon of kelp yields approximately 12 mg of iodine while the daily recommended dosage is only 150 mcg (1mg =1,000 mcg).  Eating sea vegetables regularly will help maintain a strong thyroid function.  There is a recipe for Seaweed Tofu Soup in my yeast free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

The above natural remedies have proven very effective for the treatment of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid).  Depending on the T3 and T4 levels in your blood tests, you may want to wean yourself off of synthetic hormones by incorporating these natural remedies.

Your thyroid gland produces two main hormones, triiodothyronine (T-3) and thyroxine (T-4).  They maintain the rate at which your body uses fats and carbohydrates, help control your body temperature, regulate heart rate and the production of protein. Your thyroid gland also produces calcitonin, a hormone that regulates the amount of calcium in your blood.

According to the Mayo Clinic, causes of hypothyroidism include auto-immune disease (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis), overtreatment of hyperthyroidism, radiation therapy for cancer, side effects of some medication such as lithium, thyroid surgery, and congenital conditions.  The Mayo Clinic staff claimed that the causes of auto-immune and congenital diseases are unknown.  The known causes are actually the results of mistreatment by the medical professionals.

According to my clinical observation of the clients I’ve worked with in the past 30 years, the major causes are as follows:

Poor Dietary Habits:

Excessive intake of sugar and fats make the thyroid gland overworked, and then exhausted.  When the thyroid gland is sluggish, the production of T3 and T4 are not sufficient to metabolize the overload of sugar and fats.  So, the vicious circle continues.  The end results are weight gain from sluggish metabolism, puffiness of the face, swollen ankles or swollen feet from water retention, cold hands or cold feet from poor temperature regulation, fatigue from insufficient use of the energy from food, hair loss from toxin build up in the kidneys, depression from low energy and a cluster of physical and mental symptoms, the list goes on.

Yeast and Parasitic Infections:

As I stated in previous articles, yeasts and parasites develop colonies at sites that are weak in your body.  When your thyroid function is weak, this area becomes a good incubator for yeasts and parasites.  Of course, this creates another vicious circle for the already sluggish thyroid gland.

Stress:

Stress, if not handled properly, can tense up all the organs, glands, nerves, and cells, and deplete the supply of blood, oxygen and nutrients to support their proper functions in your body.  Thus, a series of psychosomatic diseases can occur in addition to hypothyroidism.

Iodine Deficiency:

The trace mineral iodine is essential for the production of thyroid hormones.  If there is insufficient iodine in your diet, hypothyroidism can result from this deficiency.

The above causes are the most common for hypothyroidism according to my clinical experience.  The good news is that there are natural remedies without the need for drugs or surgery.  Stay tuned.  I will discuss holistic treatment methods in the next article.

According to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, an estimated 25 million people have some form of hypothyroidism, but only half have been diagnosed.

What is thyroid?  What is hypothyroidism?

The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland in front of your windpipe.  Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough of a hormone called thyroxine.

Thyroxine governs your body’s metabolism and helps control how your body uses energy and how well your cells, tissues and organs work.  Therefore, not having enough thyroxine can cause unpleasant symptoms throughout your body.

The most common symptoms include:

Physical Symptoms:

  • Weight gain
  • Dry skin
  • Yellow skin
  • Hair loss, including the eyebrows
  • Swollen face, hands, legs, ankles or feet
  • Cold feet and cold hands
  • Aches and pains in muscles or joints
  • Hoarse or raspy voice
  • Constipation
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding or irregular periods
  • Fatigue

Mental Symptoms:

  • Slower thinking
  • Poor mental concentration
  • Slower speech or movement
  • Depression

In some cases, an enlarged thyroid gland, slowed heart rate, and infertility may occur.

In the next few articles I will discuss causes and treatment for hypothyroidism.  Stay tuned!
