In the previous two articles, I explained why PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome) is easily treatable if you follow five drug-free remedies: 1) Dietary Change to nourish your body and starve yeasts and parasites; 2) Herbal Therapy to detox and balance your hormones.

In this article, I will address why Regular Exercise, Stress Management, and Sexercise are also important to help eliminate PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome)

Regular Exercise:

Exercise improves blood circulation.  Yeasts and parasites love a still environment.  When your blood flows smoothly, the environment is not conducive for the overgrowth of yeasts and parasites.  Exercise also generates a natural chemical called “endorphin” – the morphine within.  Morphine is a pain killer.  Therefore, exercise reduces or eliminates menstrual cramps.

You don’t need to have a gym membership to exercise.  Our ancestors did not have gyms anyway.  For beginners, simple slow walking around the block in your neighborhood (or at the mall if you are concerned about safety) can be very effective.  Do it regularly.  Don’t wait until PMS occurs.  If you also suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), just start with 5 to 10 minutes of slow walking and slowly build up to 30 minutes a day.  When you walk, don’t think!  Chances are you have been thinking too much!  Just enjoy the trees and sing with the birds!

Stress Management:

Stress is part of life.  Stress can propel you to the next level of success if you manage it effectively.  In the Chinese language, the word crisis consists of two characters: danger and opportunity (危機).  PMS usually correlates with unmanaged stress.  If you see every challenge in life as an opportunity to learn, grow and expand, then you will enjoy harmony in your life.  You will not be controlled by mood swings.  When you are in harmony with your life, you will be in harmony with your body!

Sexercise:

The Chinese have long believed that if a young woman has PMS, she will grow out of it after she is married.  Why?  Sexercise!

Sex is a great remedy for PMS.  Good sex increases self-esteem and improves blood circulation.  When you enjoy good quality and quantity of sex with the right partner, you feel loved and energized.

Women who suffer from PMS are usually sexually inactive despite marriage.  Sexual desire and potency do not have to decline with age.  Some of my clients enjoy frequent sex (at least three or four times a week) in their 80s!  You are never too old or too tired for sex.  Remember two principles: 1) you either use it or lose it; and 2) practice makes perfect.  When you learn to enjoy sex on a regular basis, you will enjoy being a female.  When you enjoy being a female or being who you are, chances are you will say goodbye to PMS!

A short while ago, I posted an article about herbal smoothie for hydration and nourishment for people having difficulty swallowing as result of radiation treatment for throat cancer.  Several people have asked questions about the benefits of herbal smoothie and its indications.  Here is the detailed information:

The recipe of herbal smoothie calls for:

1 cup of purified water

1 cup of sugar-free soy milk, or rice milk, or almond milk, or coconut milk

1 ripe banana (peeled and sliced)

1 scoop of Herbal Cocktail powder

2 capsules of Yeast-Para Control (break the capsules and use the powder content)

1 capsule of Female Vitality or Male Vitality (break the capsule and use the powder content)

Put the mixture in the blender on high speed for 10 seconds.

Here is the rationale for the above ingredients:

  • Purified water: right consistency of the recipe and hydration
  • Sugar-free soy milk, or rice milk, or almond milk, or coconut milk: smooth taste and protein source
  • Ripe banana: naturally sweet taste and smooth elimination
  • Herbal Cocktail:  High concentration of herbal protein, complex carbohydrates, and digestive enzymes. Nourishing the body and stopping sugar craving.

As mentioned in the previous article, leaky gut syndrome is not a recognized diagnosis by the western medical establishment.  The symptoms of leaky gut syndrome mimic symptoms discussed in previous articles including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, Irritated Bowel Syndrome, Lyme disease, etc.  It does not matter what kind of diagnosis you have, what matters is that you need to get well!

Many medical doctors may say there was “nothing wrong” with you according to their tests; or worse, you were told it was “all in your head” and gave you prescriptions for depression, pain, insomnia, etc.

Based on my more than three decades of clinical experience working with clients with inflammations of the gastric-intestinal tract (GI tract), the following have been the most effective holistic treatment methods:

1)    Yeast-free nutritional program:

If you have been reading my articles, you must be familiar with my yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no alcohol, no caffeine, no nicotine, nor chemicals.  My clients call it “Dr. J’s Eight Commandments”.  You might ask, “How long should I stay on Dr. J’s yeast-free nutritional program?”  This is essentially a nutritional program for life.  This is why I do not label this program a “diet.”  Diets denote a temporary eating habit.  If you want to nourish your body and starve the yeasts and parasites, it is recommended that you stay on our yeast-free nutritional program as much as you can, especially in the first three to six months of the treatment.  When your immunity is stronger, you can “relax” a little bit on the no-no items.  However, you do need to prepare for the consequences whenever you deviate from our yeast-free nutritional program.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

 

2)    Herbal Therapy

Based on my clinical experience, I have found that many diagnoses share the same symptoms of yeast and parasitic infections.  Once we remove excessive yeasts and parasites in the body, the inflammation of the GI tract is under control.  Our Yeast-Para Control formula is designed for this purpose.  According to my best knowledge, our Yeast-Para Control is the only formula that can remove yeasts and parasites simultaneously.  Remember, yeasts and parasites are like Siamese twins.  They must be removed simultaneously from your body in order for you to get well.  Yeast-Para Control loosens the toxins in the body, and Cleansing-Balance Tea flushes the toxins.  The two formulas work synergistically together to remove excess yeasts and parasites.

5)    Low-impact exercise

According to Wikipedia, Leaky gut syndrome is a proposed condition of a damaged bowel lining. The term is used by some holistic health or alternative medicine practitioners, but is not a recognized diagnosis. It is hypothesized that leaky gut syndrome is caused by increased permeability of the gut walls resulting from toxins, poor diet, parasites, infection, or medication. The leaky gut then allows substances such as toxins, microbes, undigested food, waste, or larger than normal macromolecules to leak through an abnormally permeable gut wall. Proponents propose that these out-of-place substances affect the body directly or initiate an immune reaction.

According to my clinical experience, Leaky gut syndrome is a cluster of symptoms caused by digestive tract inflammation.  Symptoms include: bloating, diarrhea, stomach pain, extreme fatigue, mind fog, poor digestion and absorption, arthritis-like aches and pain, sleeping disorder, etc.  The symptoms mimic several diagnoses such as fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chrohn’s disease, Lyme disease, irritated Bowel Syndrome (IBS), ulcerative colitis, yeast and parasitic infections, etc.

For many sufferers, it’s just a relief to finally put a name to the symptoms; however, it does not change the fact that their suffering continues.  It’s important to know the possible causes of these symptoms and the holistic treatment for them.

Possible causes of Leaky Gut Syndrome:

1)    Yeast and parasitic infections:

 

Yeasts and parasites use their hooks to hook onto the mucous membranes and suck nutrients from the host.  If they develop colonies in the gastric-intestinal tract (GI Tract), then stomach ulcers or leaky guts can be a result.  Not only do they suck nutrients from the host, they also damage the linings on the walls of the GI tract.

 

2)    Poor dietary habit:

Standard American Diet (SAD) is loaded with sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, caffeine, alcohol, and chemicals.  The SAD feeds the yeasts and parasites and worsens the symptoms.

 

3)    Psychological stress:

 

Carrying negative emotions such as anger, resentment, fear, regret, or guilt is like driving a car with the hand-break on.  It causes wear and tear to the car (your immune system).  When your immunity is weak, all kinds of invaders such as bacteria, viruses, yeasts and parasites can defeat you and cause all kinds of illnesses.

 

4)    Liberal use of antibiotics:

 

The western medical establishment uses antibiotics as a “catch all” magic bullet for all infections without consideration to strengthening the immunity.  In fact, excessive use of antibiotics destroys the immunity, because the potent drugs kill both the good and bad bacteria floras in your intestines.  The “bad guys” such as harmful yeasts take little time to come back; while the “good guys” take a long time to rebuild.  Thus, an imbalance is created, and yeast overgrowth becomes an additional health issues for you to handle.

I was searching all over the country for a holistic doctor to treat my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and yeast and parasitic infections.  I took several anti-fungal drugs in the past few years with short-term effects.

Most available literature would mention lightly that “early diagnosis” and “proper amount of antibiotics” would “cure” Lyme disease.  However, I have found that many Lyme disease diagnostic tests are unreliable. Many patients were not given the diagnosis of Lyme disease by their physicians until after they had suffered a cluster of symptoms for years.  It was only after their disease developed into a stage III (chronic) Lyme disease that people would take notice.

In my more than 30 years of clinical practice, I have not come across any Lyme disease clients that have been “cured by antibiotics.”  They might experience temporary relief of symptoms; however, when their life is stressful, the symptoms would return.  Worse yet, those who have been treated with many courses, or multiple brands and strains of antibiotics for a long period of time, tend to develop a severe case of yeast overgrowth.  That’s the major reason why people with Lyme disease also have candidiasis or other yeast and parasitic infection symptoms.

As long as you keep the immunity strong, you can co-exist with all kinds of microbial organisms in harmony.  Unfortunately, I have found most people with Lyme disease had a “go-go-go” personality.  Physically speaking, they exhaust their energy reserve by overdoing things.  Emotionally speaking, they stressed themselves out by creating constant time-pressured life events.  Spiritually speaking, the universe gives them an opportunity to be humbled, rest and takes good care of their bodies.

Based on the above understanding, my holistic approach is to help my clients with Lyme disease gain a physical, emotional and spiritual balance.  The following are guidelines for holistic treatment:

 

Physical Balance:

In order to strengthen the immunity, it’s important to be on a yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no caffeine, no alcohol, nor chemicals.  Smokers were also guided to stop smoking, because the above no-no’s and nicotine feed yeasts and parasites.  As mentioned previously, yeast and parasitic infections go hand in hand with Lyme disease because of the liberal use of antibiotics.  To learn what to eat and what to avoid, so that you can nourish your body, and starve your little enemies within, follow my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking.

Because the common symptoms of Lyme disease include fatigue, mind fog, swollen glands, and shifting aches and pain (which mimic Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and fibromyalgia) herbal therapy is also important to eliminate or reduce these symptoms.  The combination of Herbal Detox (Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea) and Hormonal Regeneration (Female Vitality or Male Vitality) programs works to increase energy, clear mind fog, stop inflammation, and eliminate aches and pain.  No two individuals have the same symptoms.  Therefore, some individuals may need Herbal Cocktailf or bloating and sugar craving as well.

Carrying negative emotions such as anger, resentment, fear, regret, and guilt is like driving a car with the hand break on.  It causes wear and tear on your immunity.   Therefore, it’s important to clear the “unfinished” business.

Spiritual Balance:

Some people felt false relief when they received a diagnosis of Lyme disease from their physicians.  Antibiotics are considered “magic bullets” in western medical establishments.  Through their continued suffering, patients realize this is not true.  If you are spiritual, you might wonder why your life is ruined by such tiny creatures like ticks (only the size of poppy or sesame seeds). This is a way designed by the universe to humble you and “encourage” you to take good care of yourself.  Your body is a temporary home for your soul.  However, in order to have a smoother spiritual journey, you still need to take good care of this temporary home.

There is also a possibility that you have abused or misused your power to control people.  Therefore, you are given an “opportunity” to learn how it’s like to be controlled by tiny creatures like ticks.  If you apologize to the universe for this possibility and vow that you will never make the same mistake again, you might feel peace and harmony with the universe and with yourself.

Lyme disease is a health challenge in America and Europe.  It may be one of the most fastest growing epidemics in the world.   According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “There is considerable underreporting of Lyme disease…. The actual infection rate may be 1.8 million, 10 times higher than the 180,000 cases currently reported.”

The major reason for under reporting of Lyme disease is the difficulty in diagnosing the disease.  In addition to the spirochete, the saliva of the ticks carries several microbial organisms that cause “co-infections.”  

Most laboratories like to present themselves as having reliable tests for Lyme disease, when in fact they often miss the diagnosis by misinterpreting the results.  Whether the diagnosis is accurate or not, health professionals need to pay special attention to the symptoms experienced by their patients.  As described in the previous article, symptoms experienced by each individual may vary.  The most common symptoms include bulls-eye skin rash, fever, fatigue, mind fog, swollen lymph glands, depression, shifting aches and pain, crawling sensation under the skin, etc.  All these symptoms mimic yeast and parasitic infections, fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and many others.

The most common treatment is taking many courses of strong antibiotics with the hope that all the infections would be cleared up quickly.  Unfortunately, most symptoms become chronic and recurrent, because antibiotics actually destroy the immunity and create more perpetual health problems due to yeast overgrowth.
