According to the western medical establishment, the cause of cancer is unknown. Some researchers assert that we all have cancer genes (oncogenes) in our body.  The reason why some people get cancer but others don’t is due to the way we handle stressors in our life. 

 

After dealing with numerous cancer clients in the past three decades, I have found that there is symbolic meaning in each type of cancer.  For example, women who have breast cancer are usually givers or care-takers.  Breasts symbolize love and nurturing.  They had been busy giving love and care to others but had not received the nurturing they themselves needed.  In some cases, they craved love and nurturing but did not get it because their husbands had extramarital affairs. 

 

Another example is that when a woman has uterine cancer, usually she has unfinished issues regarding sexuality such as sexual molestation or rape.  A person who has throat or thyroid cancer usually has unexpressed rage. 

 

As I indicated in previous articles, poor dietary habits such as the Standard American Diet (SAD) that is loaded with sugar, dairy, wheat, yeasts, caffeine, alcohol, and chemicals create an incubator for cancer cells to ferment.   Psychological stress, either chronic or acute, weakens the immunity, and facilitates this fermentation process. Therefore, the best way to treat or prevent cancer is to deal with the body and mind simultaneously. 

 

Cancer is a life-threatening illness and an extremely traumatic experience.  You can allow the illness to consume you or you can take the bull by the horns and fight back!  Many people are able to exercise their informed freedom of choice and are able to create a “permanent remission.” If you refuse to see cancer as a permanent sentence, but instead see it as a new beginning, chances are you can win the battle and claim victory.

 

Dr. Bernie Siegel, in his book, Peace, Love & Healing (1989), advocates “self-induced healing.” He believes that feelings are natural chemicals that can heal or kill.  As a medical doctor, he chooses to help his cancer patients use these natural chemicals to cure and heal themselves.  “Anything that offers hope has the potential to heal, including thoughts, suggestions, symbols and placebos.” As a result of this firm belief, he has helped countless cancer patients create miracle cures!

 

The late Norman Cousins, in his book, Anatomy of an Illness (1985), suggested that if you have a highly developed purpose, a strong will to live and a creative way of living, you will have a potent healing force!  By exercising this healing force, together with laughter, courage and tenacity, he successfully fought against a crippling disease and increased his longevity.

It is common sense that a strong immune system is the foundation for good health.  When your immunity is weak, a variety of diseases can flourish in your body.  Here is an analogy: when the police force is strong in a society, there will be social order; when the police force is weak, gangsters take over, and people would live in chaos and fear.  Scientists have reported that all of us have cancer genes in our body.  It is only when our immune system is compromised that our body cells become fermented and turn into cancer cells.

So the question is: How do I strengthen my immunity?

It seems to be a simple question, but it requires a comprehensive answer.  Base on my more than three decades of clinical experiences helping people from all walks of life heal various health issues, here are my recommendations:

1)    Yeast-Free Nutritional program:

As I have stated in previous articles, a yeast-free nutritional program containing no sugar, no dairy, no wheat, no yeasts, no caffeine, no alcohol, no nicotine, nor chemicals (Dr. J’s Eight Commandments as my clients called it) will prevent new toxins from harming your immune system.  I know this is a tall order because most people are so used to the Standard American Diet (SAD) which is loaded with my no-no’s.  Read my yeast-free cookbook, Healthy and Tasty: Dr. J’s Anti-Yeast Cooking to learn what to eat and what to avoid.  I recommend doing the best you can.  If you can do 50%, you will get 50% of the benefits; if you can do 75%, you will get 75% of the benefits.  Of course, if you make 0% of the effort, you will get 0% of the benefits.

2)    Herbal Detox:

Our Herbal Detox program contains Yeast-Para Control and Cleansing-Balance Tea. Most people understand that their pets need to de-worm periodically. Daily exercise improves blood circulation and increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to your body cells, and thus strengthens your immunity.  Furthermore, yeasts and parasites love a still environment.  A body in motion can reduce yeast and parasitic infections.  Exercise also enhances the absorption of herbal nutrients if you are taking supplements. You don’t need to go to the gym to exercise.  Slow walking or jogging in place is just as effective, and the price is right!  It’s free!

7)    Rest:

When your body is exhausted, the immune system can break down.  Everyone requires different amounts of sleep.  Find a happy medium for your body.  Usually seven to eight hours of sleep is important for your body to recuperate.  If you feel that you aren’t getting enough sleep, then incorporate my ten-minute meditation (see my book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing) and/or cat naps during the day which are very effective.

8)    Manage Stress Effectively:

Stress, if managed properly, can motivate and propel you to a higher level of success.  Otherwise, it can cause wear and tear down your immune system.  My book, Breaking the Yeast Curse: Food and Unconditional Love for Magic Healing, gives you many tools to manage your stress effectively.  Emotional Releasing Technique, writing a “Reconciliation Letter”, meditation, prayers, and affirmations are but a few examples.

Your immune system is like a machine containing various sizes of cogs and screws.  Each cog needs to operate harmoniously together in order to yield the best efficiency.  A car needs regular oil and air filter changes every 3,000 miles.  Your body needs regular maintenance just like your car.  Take good care of your body so that you can get best mileage out of it!
